The study of how fish are eaten and the ergonomics involved led to the design of a serving plate that is a small platter that can be combined with other plates to solve some of the problems linked with the way fish are separated into edible and non-edible parts and for the temporary storage of leftovers. The main design features are the borders of each element which are not parallel to the plate base. Such details allow for a flexible combination of the various elements in setting the table, on formal or less formal occasions, according to the various plate combinations and the differently combined shape of the borders.
