My concept is to display a glowing lamp in the space, which also symbolises the birth of creative thoughts and ideas, but not in the usual way and form.
My sculpture forms a text stretching towards the sky, with a thickly drawn text in English on the mantle about the history of the incandescent lamp. The shape itself is a simple rectangular box, open at the top, with the texts on the sides. The sculpture can be walked around in space, its surface content readable throughout.
The resulting grid forms a unique texture that can be illuminated from the outside or the inside at night, giving the work a flexible use. Internal lighting creates unique and spectacular light and shadow effects on this surface. For the interior, a large spherical lamp could provide a uniform light source projected outwards. For the exterior, I propose the use of external RGB halogen floodlights per side, with programmable colouring to suit different events.
