For the artist communication with nature remains the most essential condition. The artist is human; himself nature; part of nature within natural space
Paul Klee
Elements which were very important to us while designing this project include space, the third dimension, spirit, softness, beauty, balance between form and function, harmony and adaptation with the environment and surroundings, and connection with the nature.
Throughout history, man has always strived to learn and to be inspired by the nature in order to engage in new experiences and provide a better and more efficient life for himself and other beings. In fact, nature is the source of inspiration for architects, artists, inventors and scientists. Nature is man’s origin and destination, in other words, man has always been a part of it.
Nature includes not only the external environment such as clouds, trees, the sea, the mountains, and animals, but also buildings, components, and building materials. By building structures with forms familiar to humans in nature, in addition to creating two-dimensional graphics, also architecture has thickness, depth and volume; therefore, architecture can complement nature and be a part of it.
We were inspired by bird nesting to create a beautiful and functional landscape. The creation of this idea causes a part of nature to become a part of the building and this wall to become a dynamic and living part of nature. In this piece, in addition to creating a sense of familiarity, modeling the nature and creating visual beauty, form is subordinate to function, which create a kind of environmental harmony in the structure and form. The points were created randomly and the placement formation of nests next to each other is designed according to the VORONOI algorithm. The nests are printed separately in 3D and then placed on the wall.
